High Chief Kunle Alabi Reacts To Students Putting On Church Garments To School

We earlier reported a news about students of a particular secondary school wearing church garments instead of school uniforms. The issue has brought much controversy in and out the state and so many notable people already shared their opinion on the matter.

The highly respected Iwo-born journalist who is known for his swift reaction in matters of the environment, deemed it fit to react to the issue, See what he said below.

Consequent upon the delivery of judgment last week in Osogbo, a lot of reactions have been generated. I trust, more are still coming.
As part of 'vengeance', our Christian brothers and sisters dug in and brought out the judge's Islamic name. Since 1994, when I came in contact with the judge, I never knew his Muslim name until last week.
The Christians intentionally did that to give the judgement some religious or Islamic colouration.
Going by the High Court pronouncement, female Muslim students are allowed by law to wear hijab.
One would have thought that the most appropriate thing the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) would have done was to order its greater tomorrows to bless their heads with berets.
Caps, the leadership of CAN thought that would not serve as a good tool of vengeance. It then ordered its young members to wear full blown Church attires. This is not fair. That is to say the least.
Having linked the judgement to the religion of the judge, CAN still went ahead to further rope and tie it to the robe of Governor Abdul Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola of Osun State, another Muslim. This is unfair to the person of the number one citizen. In my view, I believe that judgement has nothing to do with the person who sits on that chair courtesy of our collective empowerment as the Governor.
In the final analysis, I enjoin the leadership of CAN to re-order its future leaders, that is, the students to revert to old order. Or ask the students to adorn their heads with to-match-berets, pending the determination of the case in the appellate court.
It is incumbent on the CAN to let their young ones know that vengeance is God's. And that a good religion, which Christianity is, must not breed deviants to social order. The future belongs to the students and not the present CAN leadership. That is the truth. And it must be told.
Shalom !

I beg to disagree with you. The judge should have been mindfulof the aftermayh of his judgmentand how faris it to all concerned.
I belief that in other state like Lagos state did not allow such an outcome. Let us be fair to all the religions in the state.
