Oluwo Adds Another Feather To His Cap.

OLUWO OF IWO LAND.
The ever growing and glowing achievement of Oluwo of Iwo land achievement will today be plus one. When the announcement of the revered Kabiesi was made on November 9, 2015, Iwo people were put into a wild jubilation, visitors both in the country and abroad were trooping in to pay homage and congratulate Oba Adewale Akanbi on ascending his fathers throne.

The respected monarch who understand and was conscious of the need to develop his homeland quickly gets over the euphoria of  his appointment and installation and began the process of actualizing his dream of a Greater Iwo Kingdom. Having lived a western life for over 20 years, he perfectly understand that the work of developing a country is not and should not be left solely for the government, traditional rulers also have an important and cogent role to play as well.

He has since facilitated the rebuilding of the Oluwo Palace to an ultra-modern one that can compete with any of its contemporary in the country, he has played an important role in making sure that the Yidi-Oba road which has been in a deplorable condition since 2012 is now motorable, he has initiated another program termed 'CLOTHING DONATION BANK' in which members of the public can donate clothing materials and wears in view of providing shelter for the less privileged.

Kabiesi is not resting on his oars and he has again initiated another wonderful program termed 'FOOD BANK PRROGRAM'. In a short circular sent via a whatsapp group, the monarch explained the reason for the program which is aimed at feeding the less privileged noting the Yoruba proverb that say 'Ti ounje ba ti kuro ninu ise, ise buse'. In his exact word, he said ;

'Please announce to all and sundry.... we will start by feeding anyone that is hungry through our food bank program at the palace, its a 3 days a week program starting from Monday( 18/04/2016).....you can walk in the palace to a delicious meal once a day and water.....this will just be the start and a test run for now and its limited to 3 days a week and later to 7 days a week.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be food day at the palace‎'.

Concern were raised about the program reaching the targeted audience knowing fully well that the program may be abused, Oba Adewale Akanbi responded appropriately and convincingly and the initiative was applauded by the people of Iwo land.
