IDC AT 2! A BLESSING TO THE NEW GENERATION OF IWOLAND AND BEYOND.

Everybody can be great because anybody can serve, you do not have to have a college degree to serve. You do not have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. This great quote of Martin Luther King best describes the existence of an ever relevant group in a particular blessed land.

What is worth doing is worth doing well, posterity will never forget IDC in Iwo land for their great impact in transforming the land and their exceptional performance to better the lives of their root.

With all these adorations, I want to belief the acronym ‘IDC’ to you sounds like a group which is greatly funded and supported by government or it’s official(s), which I am happy to say you are very wrong. Thus, permit me to tell you little about IDC and what it’s all about.

Well, some moments ago, around the year 2014 precisely, a collection of patriotic citizens from Iwo land came together to deliberate about the problems facing the land and pledged their loyalty in putting their best in moving the land forward. With the presence of so many talented breeds of the land, the precious intention of the group led to wider interest of other patriotic people, with which led to the formation of the name IDC which simply stand for “Iwoland Development Coalition”.

In a short period of 2 years, the group recorded amazing developments throughout the three local governments that made up the Iwo land, many at times we feel it’s not a necessary idea to keep mentioning these sort of achievements but among the capital projects of the group includes:

  • Construction of Akinbami in Akinbami village of Ayedire local government
  • Re-construction of the long abandoned bridge along Yidi Oba of Iwo land,
  • Health outreach in Ayedire and Iwo Local governments where many patients were given free treatments and various tests were carried out for free to interested people.
  • Annual school educational tour in all the 3 local governments with different types of gifts distributed to the students of secondary schools in the LGAs and career talks to the student of these particular schools.

These are little among numerous achievements of this non-governmental organization which the fact that so many projects are still ongoing courtesy of IDC.

Although IDC is predominantly of youths, it is worthy of notice that there are also notable and high profile people in the organization. Few of them includes: Alhaji Mashood Olalekan Adeoti, Hon. Mudashiru Toogun, Alhaji Adebayo Lasisi, Alhaji Debo Badru, Alhaji Posi Adiatu,Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Princess Funmi Lamuye,Engr. Depo Amuda, High Chief Kunle Alabi, Chief Adebayo Rovet, Chief Lukman Badru among others.

Fast forward to 2016 when IDC is two. It is very necessary to note that it should be celebrated heavily and it is the time for the celebration. Let us stand up for the best organization Iwo land have ever produced. Long live the members of IDC, and the most tireless coordinator in person of Adisa Kabiru Kulukulu, long live Iwoland.
